“Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigues of supporting it.” ~Thomas Paine
Imagine rising in the early hours of June 6, 1944. You are a young soldier in a foreign country, having been asked by yours to fight evil on a scale the world had not seen. The goal is simple: liberate Europe from Hitler’s regime, but the mission is not easy…it involves the largest seaborne invasion in history, with air & land support, to secure treacherous beachheads, win back a portion of [Nazi] occupied France, and advance inwards toward the liberation of Europe.
Undergirding the entire campaign named “Operation Overlord,” and crucial to its success, is an unprecedented Allied psy-ops strategy, that had been creating fake cities, fake media, fake ops and fake news.
You grab your gear, board a Higgins LVCP, and begin the journey across the English Channel. Losing sight of land, three to six meter swells trigger seasickness as you head for the beachheads of either Utah or Omaha, at roughly nine knots.
Instead of making it all the way in to the beach, your craft unexpectedly skids to a stop on a sandbar, at which time the front ramp drops with a thud, signaling soldiers to disembark. Still wiping vomit from your mouths, you and your brothers begin to exit the vessel, knowing you have further to go. As you step into the water, brothers ahead of you fall from enemy fire, and you must step on or over them to advance, only to wade through buried [sand] mines and booby traps while under a constant blanket of bullets.
You are in the kill zone.
You remind yourself that if Allied paratroopers and ground reinforcements plow the field for your safe passage past the beach, your goal is to scale the ridiculously high cliffs in front of you, and either head inland, or support those trying take out the unrelenting, 155mm German guns, to secure the beachhead.
And if you survive all that without serious injury, you will regroup and continue to fight for at least another month...
Now imagine waking up 79 years later, realizing that a similar-but-evolved psy-ops campaign, that was once used to sew unity toward the defeat of evil, has now been used to convinced neighbor to “go Nazi” on neighbor, over a virus with a 99.7% recovery rate, and an unsafe, ineffective, toxic sludge elixir.
Moreover, it dawns on you that the same evil mindset, desiring conquest and world domination, has manifested in the governments of the very Allied countries responsible for thwarting its previous attempt.
“Unless a man becomes the enemy of an evil, he will not even become its slave but rather its champion.” G.K. Chesterton
